Becky has returned to her hometown of Hattiesburg after living in Gulf Shores, Alabama for the past 35 years.  She has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in special education and worked for the Baldwin County School System with students who had behavior issues.  After taking a leave from her teaching job, she owned a small publishing company, specializing in brochures and local visitor and fishing guides.  She was active in many community organizations, including the chamber of commerce and local zoo. Becky is excited about her position as church secretary and is looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Mrs. Cara Joiner, 
Administrative Assistant

Cara recently joined the Heritage Support Staff to help handle administrative tasks in the church office, and Cara also serves as the office contact for volunteer scheduling. She is the wife of our youth director, John Joiner. Together they have one daughter, who they love spending time with. Cara earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from
Mississippi State University. After college she worked in the physical therapy department of a hospital in Brandon, MS. During her free time, Cara enjoys travelling and spending time with family.

Sonya was born and raised here in the Hattiesburg area.  She attended Oak Grove School as well as the University of Southern Mississippi.  She is a graduate of USM with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Banking and Finance.  Over the past 15 years, Sonya has worked for 2 different companies in the Accounting Department.
Sonya became a member of Heritage in August, 2009.  In 2013, She also serves Heritage by volunteering to teach the 4 yr old Sunday School Class and she loves it.  She is married to Arthur Martin and they have a son.

Mr. Johnny Paul Rice,
Custodian

Johnny Paul has faithfully served the congregation of Heritage Church as our custodian for over ten years. Whether it is setting up chairs for worship, tables for a church dinner, helping the preschool, or keeping the church in order, Johnny Paul is an indispensable part of the ministry team of Heritage Church. He is greatly loved by the adults and children of Heritage United Methodist Church.
